TPDer Recognized as Regional Top TDM Professional Under 40

TPD's Joe Platt, Jr, P.E., accepting Greater Valley Forge (GVF) Transportation Management Association (TMA)'s Top TDM professionals under 40 award

As part of the Greater Valley Forge (GVF) Transportation Management Association’s 2nd annual awards program, Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. (TPD) employee, Joseph Platt, Jr., P.E. was named one of the region’s top Transportation Demand Management (TDM) professionals under the age of 40. The purpose of this program is to “recognize the leaders that are working to find creative solutions to improve quality of life [in the region] through engineering, planning, marketing campaigns and the development of commuting alternative programs that are shifting behavioral change.”

Mr. Platt is an active member of the transportation community, currently serving as a Senior Project Manager at TPD. With TPD, Mr. Platt serves as Township Traffic Engineer for numerous municipalities throughout the Delaware Valley, working with local officials to identify grant opportunities, preparing capital improvement plans, and developing project prioritizations for municipal capital improvement projects. In addition, he has authored articles, like this one, that outline the Transportation Impact Fee Ordinance (Act 209) process and how a municipality can use this ordinance to help fund road improvements. Mr. Platt also currently serves as the President for the Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
