Project Overview

TPD completed construction inspection services for Phase III of the South Bethlehem Greenway trail.

The trail project represented the third phase of the South Bethlehem Greenway. The overall project entails converting an abandoned rail line to a linear greenway trail, including a 12-foot wide asphalt pathway, stair connections to abutting neighborhoods, grade crossings with plaza designs specific to the neighborhoods, public gardens, and a pedestrian bridge crossing.

Construction activities included asphalt paving, earthwork, stormwater and utility connections, lighting, landscaping, bollard installation, bench and trash receptacle installation, and concrete work.

Phase III of the project had oversight by PennDOT District 5-0 since funding from the PA Community Transportation Initiative (PCTI) was utilized. TPD performed inspection services according to all PennDOT regulations including all documentation and records management using PennDOT’s CDS/NextGen and ECMS systems.
