A graduate of the University of Michigan’s Master of Landscape Architecture program, Teresa combines knowledge of the natural environment with a deep interest in citizen engagement. Since becoming a registered landscape architect, Teresa has founded two firms with specialties in public sector design and planning, and led diverse teams of experts to increase the quality of life for the communities in which she works.
SELECTION OF EXPERIENCE
Middle Fork Greenway: Watauga County, NC
Worked closely with Blue Ridge Conservancy and Watagua County to develop and execute prominent sections of the Middle Fork Greenway connecting Boone and Blowing Rock, NC. This project received a NC APA award for “Great Healthy Places” in 2021.
Downtown Revitalization: Damascus, VA
Served as lead designer for the Town of Damascus for this comprehensive grant-funded revitalization project, funded through the Appalachian Regional Commission. Included extensive citizen engagement in the design of a new bicycle path connecting the Virginia Creeper Trail with downtown and a riverfront park along Laurel Creek in Western Virginia.
Asheville Highway Corridor Landscape Planning & Design: Brevard, NC
Currently developing intricately customized landscape and gateway design for a major highway corridor leading to Brevard, North Carolina. Responsibilities include visualization, design development and construction documents for the gateway along Asheville Highway.
