TPD Recognized by National Organizations

During the annual Best Firms To Work For Conference hosted by CE News magazine and ZweigWhite, judges announced TPD as the # 19 Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work For in the nation. This prestigious competition recognizes outstanding architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms for inspiring their teams to perform at the highest levels through providing distinctive and innovative work environments. In TPD’s 11th year on the list, we have been ranked among the top 20 Civil Engineering firms seven times, coming in at #1 in 2009. CE News is a leading news source in the civil engineering industry that focuses on the distribution of comprehensive business advice, best practices and management tips to guide the industry’s innovators. The complete list of winners is available here.

Recently, CE News has also recognized TPD’s Executive Vice President, Matthew Hammond, PE, as a Rising Star in the Civil Engineering industry. Matt was one of 15 professionals, 40 and under, who have shown exceptional technical capability, leadership ability, effective teaching or research, or public service benefiting the profession, their employers, project owners and society. During his 18 years at TPD, Matt has continued to extend his reach beyond the firm. In addition to his role as Executive Vice President and a member of TPD’s Board of Directors, he served as chairman of the Institute of Transportation Engineers Parking Council, volunteers on township and county planning commissions and he taught as an adjunct professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. The full list of Rising Stars can be found here.

Operating in six locations, TPD is a client-focused, team-oriented firm that prides itself on working seamlessly as “One Company with Multiple Locations” as a way to leverage the considerable expertise of professional staff to achieve project success. TPD’s strategically-located network of offices, progressive management structure, continuous investment in technology, and priority on individual accountability enable the firm to provide high quality service, responsiveness, and local knowledge for the benefit of clients, teaming partners, and ultimately, the traveling public. In addition, TPD’s “One Company with Multiple Locations” philosophy effectively addresses the two leading causes for employee turnover at “Best Places To Work,” namely proximity to family and commuter travel time.

Since 1989, TPD has continually demonstrated a commitment to providing exceptional staff benefits, including technology resources and flexible schedules to encourage a healthy work/life balance and aggressive professional development. From PA offices in Pittsburgh, Pottstown, Harrisburg, Allentown, and Doylestown, and a NJ office on the Camden Waterfront, TPD’s 90 members specialize in Roadway Design, Bridge Design and Inspection, Transportation Planning, Traffic Signal System Design, Municipal Transportation Engineering Services, Environmental Permitting / Services, Construction Management and Inspection and Contractor Services / Design/Build for a diverse range of clients in both the public and private sectors.
