TPD is pleased to welcome Amanda Purcell, PE, as the newest addition to the TPD family.  She is a Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Traffic Engineering Services Department, working in TPD’s Pittsburgh, PA office.

Ms. Purcell has a dynamic transportation engineering background. She began her 20-year career as an intern at PennDOT District 12-0 and most recently spent the last 12 years as the Municipal Traffic Engineer with the City of Pittsburgh in their Department of Mobility and Infrastructure. In her role with the City, she was primarily responsible for traffic operations, including pavement markings, signage, maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT), and signals. She has dedicated her career to working to improve multimodal transportation options and advance transportation technology. She has worked to improve traffic calming for the City of Pittsburgh, designed and managed the installation of the City’s first protected bike lanes, worked to implement bike share in the City, updated and expanded the City’s traffic signal command and control software, among many other accomplishments.

Ms. Purcell will leverage this experience to continue to benefit clients within the City and beyond, working to make the regional transportation system safe, accessible and convenient for all users.
