On August 1st we welcomed a new face to the TPD family: Thomas Walter, formerly of PennDOT District 5-0. During his 35-year career with the District, Tom has become an expert in traffic and operations, including ITS, engineering studies, traffic signals, traffic signing, pavement markings, railroad crossings, roundabouts, and operations / maintenance. His previous roles at PennDOT included Assistant District Traffic and Operations Manager, as well as Roundabout Coordinator. During this time, Tom was also involved in the establishment of the District’s ITS and Communications Center (now known as the Traffic Management Center). Tom will, without a doubt, strengthen the existing comprehensive traffic signal, ITS, and traffic operations services TPD provides our clients.
