ABOUT TPD

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. was founded in Oaks, PA in 1989 by our current President, Kevin Johnson, PE. The firm, which was originally comprised of six employees, was founded primarily as a traffic engineering firm with highway design support capabilities. Within a few years, the firm grew significantly, requiring a relocation of the corporate headquarters to our current location in Pottstown, PA. During this time period, the firm was able to expand the areas in which we provided service to include bridge design and environmental permitting while at the same time strengthening our core service areas of traffic engineering and highway design. The firm was able to further expand our capabilities a few years later with the addition of bridge inspection, construction management and construction inspection. During this time period, the firm also expanded geographically, adding additional offices to allow us to better serve our growing client base.

Today, we pride ourselves on being a client-focused, team-oriented firm which operates as “One Company with Multiple Locations”. TPD’s strategically-located network of offices, progressive management structure, continuous investment in technology, and priority on individual accountability enable the firm to provide quality sustainable service, responsiveness, and local knowledge for the benefit of clients, teaming partners, and ultimately, the traveling public.
