TPD was founded in Oaks, PA in 1989 by our current President, Kevin Johnson, PE. The firm, which was originally comprised of six employees, was founded primarily as a traffic engineering firm with highway design support capabilities. Within a few years, the firm grew significantly, requiring a relocation of the corporate headquarters to our current location in Pottstown, PA. During this time period, the firm was able to expand the areas in which we provided service to include bridge design and environmental permitting while at the same time strengthening our core service areas of traffic engineering and highway design. The firm was able to further expand our capabilities a few years later with the addition of bridge inspection, construction management and construction inspection. During this time period, the firm also expanded geographically, adding additional offices to allow us to better serve our growing client base.

Today, we pride ourselves on being a client-focused, team-oriented firm which operates as “One Company with Multiple Locations”. TPD’s strategically-located network of offices, progressive management structure, continuous investment in technology, and priority on individual accountability enable the firm to provide quality sustainable service, responsiveness, and local knowledge for the benefit of clients and teaming partners.

“Amazingly progressive view of the importance of work/life balance. You are allowed to prioritize your work, not left with ‘scraps’ of time to ‘fit in’ to your outside life.”

“The organization introduces a family and team atmosphere from day one of employment. The firm has a progressive approach which is welcoming and accepting for all personalities, ages, race, rank, beliefs and cultures. NOT because of the rules and laws that are in place that can hold weight, rather a structure which was built on core principles of integrity, great relationship dynamics, activities promoting healthy lifestyles and helping one grow.”
