PROJECT OVERVIEW
This locally-sponsored, federally-funded project involved the construction of an approximately one mile long section of the Jordan Creek Greenway Trail funded under the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP).
The multi-use trail extends from MacArthur Road (SR 145) along the north side of the Jordan Creek, crossing under an existing bridge carrying Route 22, and ends north of the existing Mickley Road Bridge. The project included the construction of a new prefabricated pedestrian bridge over the Jordan Creek.
Construction activities included excavation, drainage pipe installation, subbase preparation, bituminous paving, erosion and sedimentation control, post-construction stormwater management, concrete curb ramps, landscaping, and construction of the aforementioned prefabricated pedestrian bridge on cast-in-place foundations and abutments.
TPD was fully responsible for the construction administration and inspection of the project, including daily inspection and documentation of construction activities using PennDOT’s ECMS system. The administration duties included preparing contract change orders and contractor pay estimates, contractor coordination, and facilitation of project progress meetings.
