TPD’s “12 Days of Giving” Program is Successfully Complete!
As the 2016 holiday season has come to an end, so has TPD’s unique holiday giving program which was created to benefit students, residents (and animals) across the Mid-Atlantic region. This program also helped members of the firm continue to fulfill one of their collective corporate values: The commitment to bettering their surrounding communities through charitable work and giving.
TPD is “Giving” Smiles this Holiday Season
Members of TPD, a transportation engineering firm located primarily in the Delaware Valley, has made it their mission to spread cheer across the region this year in lieu of sending holiday cards to clients and friends that eventually just get recycled. Through their “12 Days of Giving” program, which was specially crafted to benefit local people (and animals) that need a little extra attention, members of TPD (“TPDers”) are volunteering and/or donating in 12 different ways this holiday season, with help from families and local community members as well.
2016 Take Our Children to Work Day
On April 28, 2016, TPDers in our Pottstown office were joined by 19 of their children for an interactive day of learning and fun in honor of National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day! The agenda included learning more about the services TPD provides, specifically bridge design and inspection, followed by a computer game demonstrating the importance of designing and building structurally sound bridges. That knowledge was then put into action by the construction of K’nex bridges of various sizes and complexities. The children were also taught about the importance of transportation planning, with regard to safety and traffic volumes. The day ended with two additional activities: a cardboard tube run, testing patience and trial and error, as well as a foil boat competition; the sturdiest boat held nearly 80 pennies total! It was a successful day that included both fun and learning, and of course, cupcakes!
